Breaking: Virgin Islands GOP Removes Popular Vote to deny Ron Paul his win

It was just a mere two weeks ago when the Dele-gate scandal broke in Michigan.  The two at-large delegates were awarded to Mitt Romney because the Michigan GOP stated he won the popular vote.  (see Mitt Romney's DELE-Gate problem. Did he really win Michigan?)

Now we have received word that Ron Paul who won the popular vote in the Virgin Islands did not receive the most delegates.  The delegates have gone to Mitt Romney.  It seems the rules change more so than the wind blows.

Below is the news release that was issued:

Shortly after Ron Paul actually won the popular vote in the Virgin Islands, the VI GOP has now deleted their list of popular vote totals, which showed Ron Paul won as an attempt to squash his first caucus win in the Presidential election and give the win to Mitt Romney!

The Virgin Island GOP now claim that it was only "out of respect for Congressman Paul's campaign" that he received more votes (without actually mentioning that fact, and in a bizarrely-worded grammatically incorrect sentence).

If they all state there is no way Ron Paul will win the republican nomination, then why not allow him his due and show a win for his first caucus? Could it be that YES, Ron Paul can actually win and the GOP is scared to death?

Here is what they posted on the Virgin Islands GOP website :

PLEASE NOTE IN THE VI OUR RULES PROVIDE FOR THE ELECTION OF DELEGATES IN A PARTY CAUCUS. EVERY ONE WHO VOTES CAN CHOOSE DELEGATES (UP TO SIX) WHO MAY NOT NECESSARILY BE PLEDGED TO THE SAME PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE. SINCE GOVERNOR MITT ROMNEY HAD ONLY THREE CONVENTION DELEGATES RUNNING UNDER HIS NAME THAT GAVE VOTERS A CHOICE TO VOTE FOR OTHER COMMITTED OR NON-COMMITTED CANDIDATES. IT APPEARS THAT OUT OF RESPECT FOR CONGRESSMAN PAUL’S CAMPAIGN THERE WERE EXTRA VOTES TO GIVE TO OTHER CANDIDATES OR NON-COMMITTED CANDIDATES.

ALTHOUGH DR. PAUL RECEIVED ONLY ONE DELEGATE, HIS TEAM RECEIVED UP TO THREE ALTERNATE DELEGATE SLOTS AND WILL BE WELL REPRESENTED IN OUR SMALL DELEGATION.

What Say You? The MI-GOP Defends Presidential Primary Voter Fraud

The following is the complete email in it's unabridged copy .

Special Message from Chairman Schostak

Dear Republican Party activist, tea party organizations, 9-12 groups and all conservatives across Michigan:
As most of you know, I care deeply about the "family" of activists I address in this letter.

I ran for this position so that together we would bond ourselves to the basic core values we all believe in so deeply as our purpose for existing. Specifically, conservative policies are pursued by our party with accountability and fairness and that I would be a chairman that would engage the grassroots, making them, (all of us), the priority, and serve in an open and honest way throughout my tenure.

It is with this as a backdrop that I address you today.

There has been a lot of heated discussion about decisions made by the credentials committee, (which I sit on), regarding the awarding of the at-large delegates.

Since the presidential primary election last Tuesday, I’ve spent hours speaking and emailing with hundreds of Republican grassroots activists throughout the state regarding the decision by the credentials committee. I thank all of you for your time, candidness and most of all, the overwhelming support – not only toward me, but more importantly for your support of the Michigan Republican Party.

As some of you may know, due to a request by one of the presidential campaigns, the process and dispute over a single delegate may be reviewed by the Republican National Committee and/or the Committee on Contests. Rest assured, whatever decision the Republican National Committee or the Committee on Contest chooses to make, we will not appeal, we will accept it.

However, that does not address how this issue came about and more importantly ensuring that in the future, this issue never reoccurs. When I ran for chairman, I promised that when I leave the chairmanship, the party will be stronger than it was before my tenure. My observation is that this entire dust-up could have been largely avoided if the decisions made by the credentials committee were communicated more clearly and timely to the state committee.

Therefore at the next Michigan Republican State Committee meeting, I propose a resolution be adopted to improve the communication between the credentials committee and state committee.
All decisions by the credentials committee should be brought to the attention of the all state committee members within 24 hours of any vote.

I am also proposing that a special committee be comprised of each district chair, to make any further suggestions to avoid these mistakes in the future.

This special committee will provide its list of suggested changes no later than July (next stand alone state committee meeting).

These changes are meant to augment the important decisions of the credentials committee and are by no means intended to disrespect the existing credentials committee and its members. I know we all have the greatest respect for its current members, and while there were some disagreements, I know they all acted in good faith and no one questions their integrity or honesty.

Furthermore, there has been a lot of talk about “assigning blame,” and though there were errors, I have and will continue to refrain from looking to blame any person or persons and as the chairman of the Michigan Republican Party, whether it is fair or not, take responsibility for any errors in communications, process or execution of the decisions that were made by the credentials committee.

I appointed the members, hence the responsibility for running a good committee falls on me and not the individuals on the committee. I take the responsibility for the miscommunication on this issue.
I feel, I also must address comments of mine that have been reported by the press and used by certain individuals to undermine the Republican Party. Personally, I did not communicate the intent of the credentials committee clearly. I continually reiterated that Michigan’s primary allowed any candidate to compete with the chance to win delegates. However, I answered off the cuff quickly and misspoke.

I cannot take back or change those words and I won't start or try to split hairs over my choice of words or offer any excuse. I misspoke and was reminded the hard way the importance of being careful while addressing the media.

I have and will do my 100% honest best to serve as your chairman. I apologize for my error because I am truly honored to serve as your chairman, but I will not apologize to those who seek to use any mistakes in this situation to fracture our party or to discredit my intentions.

Sadly, there are folks trying to use our intra-party dispute for personal gain. That is wrong. It is disrespectful to all of you, to the presidential campaigns, to those in our party who deeply care about our values, and worse yet in the end it will only serve to assist our opponents in November.

There is a lot at stake this year. The progress made by our Republican leadership in Lansing is up for grabs including our Republican led state house, the rule of law majority on the supreme court, congressional seats across Michigan, a U.S. Senate seat and of course, the control of the White House.

This issue is deeply important to me and I hope to continue to speak with members of our grassroots about other ideas in order to never allow this to happen again, however, I will also not allow those who seek to disrupt our party to be successful. While continuing to discuss this issue with members of the grassroots, I will continue to work hard each and every day to advance our cause, spread our message, raise the necessary financial resources and defeat President Obama’s radical agenda.

As always, do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.

I look forward to working with you, shoulder-to-shoulder, as we fight on to November.

Thank you and God bless,

Bobby Schostak Chairman, Michigan Republican Party"

The Not So Lame Media would love to hear from you.  What are your thoughts?

School District Violates 6th Grade Student's 1st and 4th Amendment Rights

A Minnesota middle school student, with the backing of the American Civil Liberties Union, is suing her school district over a search of her Facebook and e-mail accounts by school employees.
The 12-year-old sixth grade student, identified in court documents only as R.S., was on two occasions punished for statements she made on her Facebook account, and was also pressured to divulge her password to school officials, the complaint states.

"R.S. was intimidated, frightened, humiliated and sobbing while she was detained in the small school room" as she watched a counselor, a deputy, and another school employee pore over her private communications.

The lawsuit claims that her First Amendment rights were violated by employees at Minnewaska Area
Middle School, in west-central Minnesota, as well as her Fourth Amendment rights regarding unreasonable search and seizure.

The Minnewaska School District denies any wrongdoing.
"The district did not violate R.S.'s civil rights, and disputes the one-sided version of events set forth in the complaint written by the ACLU," according to a district statement.

According to the complaint, R.S. felt that one of the school's adult hall monitors was picking on her, so she wrote on her Facebook "wall" that she hated that person because she was mean.
The message was not posted from school property or using any school equipment or connections, the lawsuit states.

Somehow, the school principal got a hold of a screenshot of the message, and punished R.S. with detention and made her apologize to the hall monitor, the complaint says.

She was in trouble again shortly thereafter for another Facebook post, which asked who turned her in, using an expletive for effect, the lawsuit says. She was given in school suspension and missed a class ski trip.
In the third incident, according to the complaint, R.S. was called in by school officials after the guardian of another student complained that R.S. had had a conversation about sex on Facebook.
The girl was called to a meeting with a deputy sheriff, school counselor and an unidentified school employee, the court documents states.

There, she was "intimidated" into giving up her login and passwords to her Facebook and e-mail accounts, the lawsuit says.

"R.S. was extremely nervous and being called out of class and being interrogated," the lawsuit says.
The officials did not have permission from R.S.'s mother to view her private communications, and they gave the girl a hard time about some of the material they discovered, the lawsuit states."Students do not shed their First Amendment rights at the school house gate," Charles Samuelson, executive director for the ACLU in Minnesota, said in a statement. "The Supreme Court ruled on that in the 1970s, yet schools like Minnewaska seem to have no regard for the standard."

The school district maintains that such searches did not cross any boundaries. "The district is confident that once all facts come to light, the district's conduct will be found to be reasonable and appropriate," the district said.

New federal bill could end some freedom of speech

There is a new bill that has passed both the House and the Senate and is now on its way for President Obama to sign into law.

You probably haven't heard much about this because it's not making news since the bill is being sold as new law to prevent trespassing at the White House.

But is there more to it? Is the language so vague and wide, it would mean a limit on some current freedom of speech.

Is the president being asked to pound yet another nail into the coffin of democratic expression? So say alarmist scenarios concerning HR 347 (the Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011), now on the president’s desk.

The answer, in short, is…maybe. We certainly do have a reason to be concerned.

The bill, according to the official summary:
Amends the federal criminal code to revise the prohibition against entering restricted federal buildings or grounds to impose criminal penalties on anyone who knowingly enters any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority. Defines “restricted buildings or grounds” as a posted, cordoned off, or otherwise restricted area of: (1) the White House or its grounds or the Vice President’s official residence or its grounds, (2) a building or grounds where the President or other person protected by the Secret Service is or will be temporarily visiting, or (3) a building or grounds so restricted due to a special event of national significance.

A sampling of postings from recent days reflects the disquiet. One website published an article headlined “US Congress passes authoritarian anti-protest law.” Another’s said “H.R 347 could be making the First Amendment illegal.” Still another, a guest blogger on the website of constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley, was headlined “Imprecise Language and the Risks of H.R. 347”
The first site one cited above, the World Socialist Website, which clearly has a viewpoint, made some interesting points. But the WSW stokes fears unnecessarily by its framing:

The passage of H.R. 347 has been the subject of a virtual blackout in the media. In light of the nature of the bill, which constitutes a significant attack on the First Amendment, this blackout cannot be innocent. The media silence represents a conscious effort to keep the American population in the dark as to the government’s efforts to eviscerate the Bill of Rights.

The timing of the bill is significant. H.R. 347 was reported to the Senate floor by the Senate Judiciary Committee on November 17, 2011, during a massive nationwide crackdown on the Occupy Wall Street protests – and just two days after hundreds of New York City police conducted the infamous military-style raid on the demonstrators’ encampment in Zucotti Park, driving out the protesters and erecting barricades…..

In addition, the assertion about “timing” seems to misrepresent the intent. The bill was actually introduced long before the Occupy protests—and so one would have to note that fact– and it’s not clear whether it finally got legs because of the protests.

The author of HR 347, Rep. Thomas J. Rooney (R) of Florida. According to his communications director, Michael Mahaffey, the bill originated a year ago when the Secret Service approached members of the Judiciary Committee, on which his boss then served. Rooney, who has a background in the military justice system and has taught constitutional law at West Point, volunteered to sponsor the bill. It was co-sponsored by a fellow Floridian, Democrat Ted Deutch (who, it should be noted, also co-sponsored the highly controversial Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA.)

HR 347 passed both the Judiciary Committee and the House in the last Congress, when it was still under Democratic control. The current congress passed it almost by acclamation (unanimous in the Senate; in the House, just three members, including Michigan Congressman Justin Amash, voted against it.)

Meijer Part of Investigation into Resale of Recalled Products

Meijer is part of an investigation by the federal government for the resale of recalled items. Meijer could face steep fines from the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Meijer pulled recalled items from its shelves and somehow those items have turned up in dollar stores, thrift stores, and flea markets nationwide. The CPSC says many of the products pose a safety risk to kids.

The government says the items resold include the "Slingrider" baby slings sold by Infantino. They were recalled in March of 2010. Animated marine and safari lamps were also recalled in February of 2010 because they could catch fire.

Other products that were recalled but turned up for resale are the Ocean Wonders Kick and Crawl Aquarium, a Little People's Wheelies Stand and Play Rampway, the Fisher Price Barbie tough trikes, and the Sassy infant teething rings.

The CPSC says it is illegal to resell a recalled product. It's now trying to figure out how the Meijer products wound up in the hands of discount retailers. The investigation focuses on liquidation businesses who received the products from Meijer but didn't properly dispose of them.

This isn't the first time Meijer has been busted by the CPSC for selling recalled items. The retail chain was cited last year for reselling hazardous window shades to third party retailers. New consumer protection laws were passed a few years ago, increasing penalties in cases like this, and government officials say Meijer could face fines totaling either thousands or millions of dollars.

Michigan Republican County Chairpersons are Resigning or Being Purged!

Currently there is a split with in the Republican Party of Michigan.  It is a battle between what some call RINOs  (Republican In Name Only) and those that call themselves true conservative Republicans.   The battle has been brewing for a while now but the casualties started coming in as of late last summer.

The first major casualty was when Macomb County Chairman Mike Ennis resigned his post.  He cited, his decision on the internal battles between 10th Congressional District Rep. Candice Miller and 10th Congressional District GOP Chairman Stan Grot. Miller’s allies were tossed out of party leadership positions in late 2010 and early 2011 by a new crop of conservative Republican activists – mostly Tea Party advocates – who were recruited by Grot.
The following comes from conservative blogger R Al Bain:
Michigan GOP Chairman either Resigning or Purged!
It's no wonder why Alpena County GOP Chair resigns, Macomb County GOP chair quits! At the Monroe County Republican Party's 2008 County Convention the Conservative Chair was purged along with 13 Conservative Members of the Executive Committee for trying to take the Party in a Conservative direction from the Liberal direction it was in and that Liber
al direction continues to this day. This was no surprise being as it is the local party of Senate Majority leader and Senator Randy Richardville. It's interesting to note that this local party has been through several chairman since 1999 (first year Richardville elected to office as a state representative) that have either resigned or were purged! Senator Richardville's mother Glenda Kennon, has been first vice chair overseeing this party since Mr. Richardville was first elected to office in 1999.

Also of interest is that an email sent out (Click the PIC below to Read the email) by this first vice chair of this so-called Republican Party by Mr. Richardville's mother Mrs. Kennon
http://www.miteapartynews.com/index.php/archives/107-alpena-county-gop-chair-resigns-over-gop-treatment-of-conservativeshttp://www.miteapartynews.com/index.php/archives/107-alpena-county-gop-chair-resigns-over-gop-treatment-of-conservatives
There is also descent in Monroe County.  Many are dissatisfied with Randy Richardville and his moderate view and his questionable connections to the Michigan movie industry.

In addition to county chairpersons falling, those that are State Party Officials may be out of a job.

Many are now calling for the removal of Bobby Schostak, the Michigan State Republican Chairman, in the upcoming convention later this spring.

Also State National Committeeman, Saul Anuzis is also facing removal from the conservatives that are trying to take back the Republican Party.

On Facebook, there are now well populated groups such as "Dump Saul Anuzis", "RINO Hunters", "Conservatives for legitimate GOP Leadership", and a renewed interest in "Stop the National Popular Vote". That last BTW, to repudiate the LEFTIST PROGRESSIVE efforts of Anuzis to change the electoral process, something that if effective in 2000 would have given us an Al Gore

Both Saul Anuzis and Bobby Schostak played a key role in the DELE-GATE scandal here in Michigan.

Author J Gillman of RightMichigan.com writes, "
Bobby can pretend all he wants that he maintains integrity, when the most corrupt actions in current memory is happening right now under his watch. The worst cheating, and an attempt to manipulate the votes of grass roots voters in recent years by officials when THEIR guy didn't show a decisive win continues. Heck, even Mark Brewer is getting jealous about Schostaks new found ability for corruption, and is challenging him to a twitter duel through communications guy Matt Frendewey.
Brewer is mad because he no longer has the monopoly on shady underhandedness in Michigan.
And Schostak and company sold out to the dark side CHEAP."
It will be interesting to see which side wins over the next few months.  Will the Republican Party survive or will conservatives work together to form a new third party?

Romney's Dirty Donors: One's a Problem, Four's a Pattern

Whilst doing research on corruption with in the Romney campaign, I discovered this article from April 11, 2007 from PR Newswire regarding Mitt Romney and his dirty donors.  Has much changed?  Corruption seems to have continued.

From PR Newsire April 11, 2007:

The following was issued today by the Democratic National Committee:
Add one more to smooth talking Mitt Romney's growing list of dirty
donors. In addition to Swift Boat Veterans for Truth backers Bob Perry and
Sam Fox and Romney national finance chair John Rakolta, who backed a group
responsible for a Michigan ad comparing Democrats to Hitler, a new report
reveals that Romney's new Ohio finance chair contributed close to half a
million dollars to a group responsible for deceptive push polls in six
states last year.

Last month, the Romney campaign announced that S. Craig Lindner "will
be co-chair of Romney's Ohio fundraising effort." [Cincinnatienquirer.com,
3/28/07] Today, a report by the Campaign Finance Institute revealed that
Linder donated $479,224 to Common Sense Ohio, which was responsible for
$827,000 in deceptive ads and push polls in seven states during the 2006
elections. [Openers, Cleveland Plain Dealer blog, 4/11/07] The last minute
calls funded by Common Sense Ohio distorted the records of Democratic
candidates like Ted Strickland in Ohio, Ben Cardin in Maryland, Harold Ford
in Tennessee, and Jon Tester in Montana. [New York Times, 11/6/06]

\
Of course, Romney's connection to Common Sense Ohio isn't completely
new. Under Romney's leadership, the Republican Governors Association gave
$70,000 to Common Sense Ohio. [Plain Dealer, 9/30/06]

"Days ahead of this weekends fundraising reporting deadline, the voters
are getting a clear picture of where Mitt Romney's dirty money is coming
from," said Democratic National Committee spokesman Damien LaVera. "The
fact that his biggest backers are responsible for some of the most divisive
and disgusting campaign tactics in generations shows that Mitt Romney's
smooth talk about ending divisiveness in Washington is just another part of
his campaign to say whatever he thinks the voters want to hear."
                           Mitt Romney's Dirty Donors

CRAIG LINDNER: DONATED $479,224 TO COMMON SENSE OHIO

     S. Craig Lindner "Will Be Co-Chair Of Romney's Ohio Fundraising Effort."
"Romney's campaign announced Wednesday that S. Craig Lindner,
co-president of American Financial Group and CEO of Great American
Financial Resources, will be co-chair of Romney's Ohio fundraising effort,
along with Ames Travel Service president Nancy Donovan. Not terribly
surprising, since Lindner hosted a fundraising event for Romney at his
Indian Hill home earlier this month. The pater familias, Carl H. Lindner
Jr., will serve as the honorary co-chair of the Ohio finance committee and
the co-chair of the national finance committee." [Cincinnatienquirer.com,
3/28/07]
Carl Lindner Donated $479,224 To Common Sense Ohio.
"A new report on political soft money from the Campaign Finance
Institute fingers American Financial Group Chairman Carl Lindner of
Cincinnati and Massachusetts abortion foe Raymond Ruddy as the rich guys
who financed $827,000 worth of ads that Common Sense Ohio ran during the
2006 elections." [Openers, Cleveland Plain Dealer blog, 4/11/07] Lindner's
contributions to Common Sense Ohio totaled $479,224. [Campaign Finance
Institute, 4/11/07]
Common Sense Ohio Spent $827,000 On Deceptive Push Polls and Ads in
Seven States.
According to the Campaign Finance Institute, Common Sense Ohio was
responsible for $827,000 in deceptive ads and push polls in Ohio, Missouri,
Rhode Island, Maryland, Tennessee, South Dakota and Montana. [Openers,
Cleveland Plain Dealer blog, 4/11/07] "Common Sense Ohio was formed in July
to run issue advertisements in the governor's race there, and it became
involved in the Senate races in Maryland, Missouri, Montana, Ohio and
Tennessee, and in the abortion referendum in South Dakota." [New York
Times, 11/6/06]
     Critics Blast Deceptive Push Polls.
"But critics say the automated calls are a twist on push polls -- a
campaign tactic that is often criticized as deceptive because it involves
calling potential voters under the guise of measuring public opinion, while
the real intent is to change opinions with questions that push people in
one direction or the other. The calls have set off a furor in the closing
days of a campaign in which control of Congress hinges on a handful of
races. Andrew Kohut, a longtime pollster and the president of the Pew
Research Center in Washington, said the automated calling 'smells like a
push poll, it feels like a push poll, so I guess we have to call it a push
poll.'" [New York Times, 11/6/06]
Romney's RGA Gave $70,000 to Common Sense Ohio.
The RGA gave a $70,000 contribution to Common Sense Ohio, a group
funded and run by Ken Blackwell supporters. [Plain Dealer, 9/30/06]
RGA Affiliate Linked to Donations to Common Sense Ohio.
"Common Sense Ohio is a nonprofit advocacy organization and is financed
by wealthy Republican donors. A sister organization, Common Sense 2006, has
received a donation from the Republican Governors Public Policy Committee,
an affiliate of the Republican Governors Association. Under federal law,
the groups are not required to disclose their donors publicly or reveal how
much money they have raised." [New York Times, 11/6/06]

SAM FOX: GAVE $50,000 TO SWIFT BOAT VETS FOR TRUTH, $100,000 TO ROMNEY
Romney Backer Sam Fox Gave $50,000 to Swift Boat Veterans For Truth,
$100,000 to Mitt Romney PAC.

The Bush Administration withdrew the nomination of Sam Fax to be
ambassador to Belgium after it was revealed that Fox contributed $50,000 to

Swift Boat Veterans for Truth in 2004. [AP, 3/28/07]. Fox also contributed
$100,000 to Romney's PAC in Iowa and hosted a Romney political retreat in
Alaska. [BostonGlobe.com, 7/20/06; AP, 9/1/06]

Fox Refused to Apologize for SBVT Contributions.
Fox replied that he considers Kerry a hero. But he refused to call the
contribution a mistake. When questioned about his SBVT donations, Fox
responded, "When I'm asked, I just generally give." Fox did not back down
in a series of written responses to Kerry since the hearing. [Associated
Press, 3/28/07]
BOB PERRY: BANKROLLED SWIFT BOAT VETERANS FOR TRUTH, DIVISIVE GOP
GROUPS
Swift Boat Money Man Bob Perry Signed to Romney's Texas Fundraising
Team.
Bob Perry, a Texas homebuilder and one of the primary funders of the
Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, has signed on to raise money for the
presidential campaign of former Governor Mitt Romney. An invite to the
Dallas fundraiser for Romney on March 26 includes Perry's name as a member
of the governor's 'Texas Leadership Team.' [The Fix, Washington Post,
3/16/07]
Bob Perry Was Chief Backer of Swift Boat Group, Gave $4.5 Million.
Bob Perry, who owns Houston-based builder Perry Homes, is a Republican
Party financial donor who gained notoriety as the chief financial backer of
Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, whose ads criticized the Vietnam War record
of Senator John F. Kerry. [Washington Post, 8/9/05] Perry gave $4.5 million
to Swift Boat Veterans for Truth's campaign in 2004 to distort John Kerry's
military record. [Washington Post, 3/17/07]
Bush Friend Bankrolled Anti-Kerry Vet Group During Campaign.
IRS records show that the Texas Anti-Kerry group is being bankrolled by
Bob Perry, a good friend of George Bush & Karl Rove. Perry is one of the largest Republican donors in Texas, having given hundreds of thousands of
dollars in campaign contributions to state and national Republican parties,
local and federal Republican candidates and President Bush's campaign. [IRS
records, 4/23/04-6/30/04]
Bob Perry's Massive Contributions a Corrosive Force in Politics.
"Critics say the 71-year-old donor has introduced a level of giving
that is corrosive in politics." [AP, 11/2/03]
Perry is top Donor to College Republican Club Criticized for Racist,
Anti- Immigrant Activities. Having given $200,000 on October 24, 2006, Bob
Perry is the fourth largest donor to the College Republicans 527
organization. The group has come under fire lately for sponsoring
activities including:
-- Offering a dinner for two at a local Mexican restaurant for the winner
of a 'food stamp drawing' that required climbing through a hole in a
chain link fence and offering fake identification.
-- Sponsoring a game called 'Catch the Illegal Immigrant.' Under the
game's rules, according to one student Republican, players were to
search on campus for the student chosen to wear a name tag saying
'illegal immigrant.' [New York Times, 2/23/07]
-- Advocating events like 'Fun with Guns,' in which young Republicans
would use a BB gun or paintball gun to shoot cardboard cut-outs of
Democratic leaders such as Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) and Sen. John
